Knowing how much travel is on the horizon for our customers here at Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM Parkville, we recommend getting a few important service items taken care of with your 2017 Jeep vehicle before hitting the open road, including:
Check your belts and hoses – Most of your engine is made of metal, but the connective tissue—the hoses and belts—are not, which means they can stretch and crack in massive heat and through overuse. If you're heading out for a long road trip, having them checked and potentially replaced could be a really good idea.
Check your fluids – Not only is it smart to get an oil change before a long trip (with synthetic oil being especially good for heat and for long driving sessions), it's also wise to make sure your other fluids are topped off or, if necessary, flushed out and replaced. Transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and even wiper fluid all fall into this category.
Check your tires – While it's easy enough to put a little air into your tires, there is no easy answer for balding tires short of replacing them. If you're not sure if yours need replacing, let us know and we'll be happy to find the right set of tires for whatever Chrysler sedans or RAM trucks our customers may drive.
Assuming you take care of all these quick service issues, you should have a quick, safe road trip this Labor Day Weekend!
