If you'd like to get behind the wheel of your Jeep Grand Cherokee or RAM 1500 for a change of pace, allow us to suggest one of the following excellent nearby daily road trips:
Catoctin Mountain Park – Presidents have been going to Camp David since the FDR administration, and it's easy to see why with so much natural beauty in the area. Cunningham Falls, a 78-foot waterfall, is worth the trip all on its own, but there's plenty of camping, hiking, swimming, and fishing available in this little slice of nature heaven.
White's Ferry – This Montgomery County, MD staple is the last remaining ferry on the Potomac River. Board the Gen. Jubal A. Early not just for the ride, but for great food and beverages as well. It's a truly unique experience that you (and your kids) will love.
St. Mary's City, MD – If you like history, this two-hour drive will take you back in time the Maryland's first state capital, which features the Brick Chapel of 1667 and the State House of 1676, both of which feature costumed docents that tell visitors all about the history of the state.
There are so many more great places to visit this summer while driving your Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or RAM automobiles, and we want you to make this most of them. Maryland is a great state, so get out there and see more of it as soon as you can!
