When the Jeep® Renegade was first released, it didn't take long for drivers to notice just how much different it was from the rest of the Jeep lineup. Not only does it boast an entirely unique exterior when compared to every other Jeep for sale, but it also is much smaller than the other crossovers and SUVs in the Jeep brand. At the time, we had customers here at Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM that genuinely wondered if the Jeep Renegade was as small as SUVs could get.

Now, thanks to a new report from AutoCar, we know that crossovers actually can get even smaller. In fact, the same automaker that produced the Jeep Renegade is looking to develop something even more demure, giving customers yet another excellent entry-level crossover option.

"A smaller car than the Jeep Renegade is very interesting to us and we are actively looking at the project now," said Jeep CEO Mike Manley.

We don't know a lot about the vehicle at this point in the process, so it's impossible to say whether it will boast a more traditional exterior like the Jeep Cherokee or will go more unconventional like the Jeep Renegade. We also don't know whether it will share a platform with an existing vehicle or build one from scratch, and we're not yet sure whether it will price out at a number similar to the Jeep Renegade or be a little more affordable.

We do know that we are very excited about this development and cannot wait until early June when Manley announces his five-year plan for the marque in more detail. In the meantime, come pay us a visit any time and have a look at the models we already do have for sale. You may not have to wait for an even smaller one when we have so many great crossovers already in stock!
