In 2011, 2012 and 2013, the 3.6-liter Pentastar® engine appearing in various FCA vehicles was named one of WardsAuto's 10 Best Engines, so here at Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM Parkville, we were not particularly surprised to see that same engine win the accolade yet again, especially when paired with a 16-kWh lithium ion battery capable of assisting the 2018 Chrysler Pacific Hybrid to new heights in terms of both efficiency and range.

According to the EPA, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is now capable of 84 MPGe, meaning that engine and that battery in that vehicle are going to keep families away from gas stations for long stretches at a time. Current estimations are that the vehicle will travel well over 500 miles on a single tank of gas.

"Five hundred-plus miles of range makes it practical and economical," says WardsAuto editor Jim Irwin. "Give Chrysler credit for believing the masses will warm up to hybrids."

Fellow WardsAuto editors Bob Gritzinger added that the vehicle offers, "An excellent combination of ICE and EV in a large, highly practical vehicle. This is a zero-compromise vehicle."

There obviously are a lot of things to love about a modern-day minivan that does everything in its power to erase the negative stigma that today's customers in Aberdeen, MD have for what they feel are outdated people pushers. This particular minivan, though, is showing how efficient, how technologically-advanced, and how lavishly comfortable a minivan can be when done the right way. Awards like this one only help the vehicle's cause.

If you would like to take a closer look at the Chrysler Pacifica, come pay us a visit here at Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Parkville, and we'll get you behind the wheel for a test run with one of the industry's most respected drivetrains.
