If your vehicle poses a safety risk, you’ll receive a recall. The recall will let you know what repairs you need to schedule at our MOPAR® service center to make your vehicle safe again. Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM Parkville details the ins and outs of a recall notification.

What’s a Recall?

If a manufacturer or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) determines that your vehicle has a safety defect, they will issue a recall. A recall can be due to a variety of safety hazards. This can be anything from an airbag malfunction to a seatbelt defect to a steering failure.

How Do I Know if I Have a Recall?

If a safety issue is detected, manufacturers must notify all owners of the vehicle. They will send recall notifications to all registered owners, which are sent to the address that your vehicle is registered under. The notification will have details of your vehicle’s safety defect(s) and let you know what type of repairs you will need. You can also check the NHTSA website and search for your vehicle by its 17-digit VIN to look for open recalls.

How Much Do Repairs Cost?

Recall repairs are complimentary. You’ll need to visit your nearest authorized dealership to have your repairs completed. The manufacturer covers the cost of labor and replacement parts. We can even arrange for towing service if it’s no longer safe to drive your vehicle.
